Application Migration Engineer

About this role

Application Migration Engineer Verita HR Daily tasks: - Support the migration of business-critical applications as part of a large-scale data center transformation program. - Administer, configure and maintain enterprise applications running in production and non-production environments. - Ensure application availability, stability and operational readiness throughout the migration lifecycle. - Perform application deployments, configuration updates and production releases in accordance with established change management processes.

- Investigate and resolve application incidents, technical issues and performance-related problems to maintain service continuity. - Collaborate with infrastructure, middleware, database and network teams to prepare, validate and support new environments. - Work closely with project managers and technical stakeholders to coordinate migration activities, testing, cutover and post-migration support. - Coordinate with external vendors and internal engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and deliver technical solutions.

- Monitor application health, capacity and performance, proactively identifying and mitigating operational risks. - Create and maintain clear technical documentation, operational procedures and implementation guides using collaboration platforms such as Confluence. - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for automation and process optimization. Musts: Python, SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, Linux, PowerShell, Bash, Shell, Perl Proven experience supporting enterprise applications in complex production environments.

Hands-on experience with application migration or infrastructure transformation projects. Good knowledge of SQL, including PL/SQL and/or T-SQL. Practical scripting skills using one or more of the following: PowerShell, Bash, Shell, Perl or Python. Experience working with Linux and/or Windows server environments. Understanding of application architecture, networking fundamentals, load balancing, TLS/SSL and high-availability solutions.

Experience with application monitoring, troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Familiarity with release management and production change processes. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving technical challenges. Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken); additional European languages are an advantage.

Experience with technical documentation and knowledge-sharing tools such as Confluence.
