About this role

To support corporate headquarters in Columbia, MO, the full-time salaried Corporate Development Counsel will manage legal aspects of M&A and strategic investment activities, including structuring, negotiating, and closing transactions while collaborating with senior leadership and business teams in a remote environment. Key responsibilities Structure, draft, and negotiate transaction documents for acquisitions and investments Lead the legal due diligence process, coordinating with internal specialists and summarizing findings for stakeholders Provide strategic legal advice to the Corporate Development team and manage outside counsel on M&A transactions Required qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with active bar membership At least 4 years of relevant legal experience focused on M&A, including hands-on experience with complex transaction agreements Expertise in corporate law, contract law, and securities law Experience at a law firm in its M&A/Corporate practice is preferred; in-house experience at a technology or high-growth company is a plus Demonstrated ability to apply legal principles in a pragmatic, risk-based manner
