Devops/ Cloud Engineer

About this role

Devops/ Cloud Engineer Verita HR Daily tasks: - Engineer and operate the target platform on GCP/GKE to support migration of 100+ microservices. - Partner with application delivery pods to onboard services to Kubernetes, including deployment patterns, runtime configuration and operational readiness. - Provide hands-on support deploying Java and Python microservices into Kubernetes (manifests/Helm, config, secrets, scaling, health checks).

- Build and standardise CI/CD pipelines for containerised workloads (build, test, security scanning, deploy, rollback). - Implement and evolve observability: metrics, logs and distributed tracing (Grafana stack preferred), including dashboards, alerts and SLO-style reporting where applicable. - Drive platform reliability and production support: incident triage, root cause analysis, and preventative improvements. - Identify technical debt and prioritise platform improvements that reduce toil and improve developer experience.

- Ensure solutions follow technology guidelines, security controls and operational constraints. - Work effectively in a geographically dispersed team; pair with colleagues and share knowledge through documentation and enablement sessions. Musts: Java, Python, CI/CD, Code • Proven experience migrating or operating microservices platforms at scale. • Hands-on experience deploying and supporting Java and Python services in Kubernetes.

• Solid experience with monitoring/observability/tracing, preferably using Grafana products (e.g., Prometheus/Loki/Tempo) and alerting best practices. • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for containerised applications. • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) and automated environment provisioning. • Strong production mindset: reliability, incident response, and continuous improvement.
