Senior Software Engineer – Data & AI Platform (m/f/d) ALM Services Technology Group Daily tasks: - build and maintain services for collecting, processing, enriching, and delivering social media and content data; - integrate REST APIs - implement reliable ingestion covering authentication, pagination, retries, caching, rate limits, deduplication, failures, and API changes; - develop ETL pipelines for ingestion, transformation, validation, storage, and delivery; - orchestrate workflows, incremental processing, backfills, and reprocessing using Airflow, cron, or similar tools; - design data models using PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Parquet, object storage, or equivalent technologies; - implement AI enrichment using LLM APIs, prompting, structured outputs, embeddings, and vector similarity; - build classification, summarisation, ranking, semantic matching, clustering, and deduplication mechanisms; - develop backend services, internal APIs, and downstream integrations; - support automated testing, CI/CD, code review, releases, monitoring, and production operations; - monitor pipeline health, data freshness, API usage, quotas, provider performance, and costs; - design solutions for API outages, incomplete data, delayed processing, and provider failures; - write secure, testable, and maintainable Python code; - collaborate with product, data, AI, and engineering teams; - use AI-assisted development tools while remaining responsible for code quality and correctness; - define the platform’s technical architecture and direction; - make decisions on scalability, reliability, performance, data quality, and cost; - own API quotas, cost budgeting, ingestion strategy, and data coverage; - define observability standards, SLOs, and production-readiness criteria; - assess trade-offs, challenge solutions, and identify technical risks; - guide engineers through design, reviews, troubleshooting, and delivery; - take end-to-end ownership of complex platform components.

Musts: Python, Microservices, REST, LLM APIs, ETL, SQL, Snowflake, AWS Currently, we are looking for a Mid-Level or Senior Software Engineer – Social Media Data & AI Feeds to build a production platform for collecting, processing, enriching, and delivering content from social media and external sources. The final seniority level will depend on your experience, independence, and scope of ownership. This is a hands-on role.

Mid-Level Engineers will mainly implement API integrations, data pipelines, and AI-powered components. Senior Engineers will also shape architecture, technical direction, reliability, observability, API costs, and production-readiness standards. This Role Is a Strong Fit If You Have strong Python software engineering experience; experience building or maintaining production systems that process external content data; hands-on experience integrating third-party REST APIs; knowledge of authentication, pagination, retries, backoff, caching, rate limits, quotas, failures, and API changes; experience building ETL/ELT workflows, ingestion services, or data pipelines; practical experience with LLM APIs, prompting, structured outputs, classification, summarisation, or extraction; understanding of embeddings, vector similarity, semantic search, deduplication, clustering, or relevance scoring; understanding of observability and production reliability; ability to write clean, testable code and communicate technical decisions clearly; experience using AI-assisted development tools while remaining responsible for quality, security, and correctness.

For the Senior level , we additionally expect experience in architecture decisions, technical trade-offs, and ownership of scalability, reliability, data quality, API costs, observability, and technical direction. Required Experience 3+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Backend Engineering, Data Engineering or Platform Engineering; strong commercial experience with Python; experience integrating and operating third-party REST APIs; experience with ETL processes, ingestion services, and batch or event-driven pipelines; knowledge of SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL; experience with Snowflake, Parquet, object storage, or an equivalent analytical environment; experience with Airflow, cron, or similar orchestration tools; familiarity with LLM APIs, prompting, embeddings, semantic retrieval, or vector-based matching; experience with automated testing, CI/CD, version control, and code review; understanding of logging, metrics, monitoring, and production support; strong communication skills and fluent English.

For the Senior level , we typically expect 5+ years of relevant experience, including ownership of architecture, complex integrations, and technical decisions. Technology Expectations Practical experience with several of the following: Python and modern backend or data-processing frameworks; REST APIs, OAuth, pagination, retries, caching, and fault-tolerant integrations; rate-limit, quota, and API usage management; ETL/ELT, batch or event-driven processing, and data ingestion; Airflow, cron, or equivalent orchestration tooling; PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Parquet, object storage, or analytical data platforms; LLM APIs, prompting, structured outputs, classification, or extraction; embeddings, vector databases, semantic search, clustering, deduplication, and relevance scoring; data validation, schema evolution, reconciliation, and pipeline monitoring; logs, metrics, dashboards, alerts, health checks, and SLOs; Docker, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and production deployment; AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent.

Experience with RAG, AI agents, LangChain, LangGraph, or LLM orchestration is welcome, but it does not replace strong production engineering and data pipeline experience.
