About this role
Senior SQL Server DBA Verita HR Daily tasks: - Administer, maintain, and support Microsoft SQL Server environments across on-premises and cloud infrastructure. - Manage SQL Server Always On Availability Groups to ensure high availability and resilience. - Monitor database health, performance, and availability, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues. - Investigate and troubleshoot blocking, deadlocks, long-running queries, resource utilization, and other database performance challenges.
- Support scheduled maintenance activities, including operating system patching, software deployments, database upgrades, and index maintenance. - Provision and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible. - Develop and enhance automation using T-SQL and PowerShell scripting. - Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver stable and reliable database services. - Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation and process optimization.
Musts: Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, PowerShell, AWS, Azure, GCP, MongoDB, NoSQL, Snowflake An experienced Senior Database Administrator is sought to support and maintain business-critical database environments across hybrid infrastructure. The role focuses on ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of Microsoft SQL Server platforms while driving automation and continuous improvement of database operations.
This position requires working on a rotating shift schedule, including weekends. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server (2019 or later), including Always On Availability Groups. Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell. Solid understanding of SQL Server performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting, backup and recovery, and high availability solutions.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is advantageous. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools, particularly Terraform and Ansible. Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases is an advantage. Experience with Snowflake or other data warehouse technologies is highly desirable. Knowledge of ITIL principles and Agile methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn new technologies and adapt in a dynamic environment.
