Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Additional information about transcripts is in this document. To qualify your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes: a variety of complex organizational and administrative projects and tasks such as preparing documents, reports, and/or spreadsheets; using timekeeping programs; making purchase requests and other financial transactions with the government purchasing card; filing and data entry; making travel arrangements; maintaining and procuring office supplies; providing support during meetings; maintaining records in accordance with agency policy; advising others on office operations and administrative regulations and guidance; independently interpreting and/or applying regulatory or procedural requirements; and working as a collaborative member of a team.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
