About this role

You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 0511 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume (and/or transcript if necessary) must clearly show that you have the qualifications described below. You can use experience, education, or a combination of the two to qualify. When using education to meet qualifications you must submit transcripts. See Required Documents for more information.

A. Basic Requirement: Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing; or a degree including auditing courses in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. Applicants MUST submit a copy of their college transcripts from an accredited educational institution which reflects that an accounting or equivalent degree was conferred and the date conferred.

Failure to submit your transcripts may result in lost consideration. OR B. combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following: A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial coursework in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.

GS-12: Creditable Specialized Experience - Planning and conducted performance, financial, or compliance audits using Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) aligned scopes and methodologies. - Analyzing financial, operational, and contract data to identify risks, deficiencies, or noncompliance. - Preparing complete, accurate audit workpapers that documented evidence and supported conclusions. - Developing evidence-based audit findings and communicated results through reports and briefings.

- Appling federal laws, regulations, and agency policies to evaluate program compliance and support audit recommendations.
