About this role
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience for the GS-12, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: - Using computer software and data analysis tools to gather, analyze, and interpret data in support of audits, investigations, or program reviews, and preparing audit work papers, reports, presentations, or other written products; AND - Independently planning or developing audit objectives, data analysis approaches, or audit tests, and modifying audit methods or analytical techniques to resolve auditing or data analysis issues; AND - Preparing reports that summarize findings, support conclusions, and provide recommendations.
Specialized Experience for the GS-11, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: - Conducting segments of audits or audit support activities, including interviewing personnel, gathering and analyzing audit evidence or electronic data, performing audit tests or data analyses, and documenting results in audit work papers or reports; AND - Assisting in developing audit objectives, audit plans, audit programs, or data analysis approaches, and evaluating evidence to support audit conclusions.
OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field. OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement, must equal at least 100 percent.
Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. Specialized Experience for the GS-09, you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: - Assisting with audits, investigations, reviews, or analyses by applying auditing or data analysis principles to gather and analyze information and document findings in work papers or written reports; OR - Working for a tax administration organization with responsibility for documenting the results of audits, projects, or analyses in written reports.
OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree in a related field OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent.
Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be used in meeting this requirement. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks. For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-09 level for 52 weeks. For the GS-09, you must have been at the GS-07 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a nontemporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
