Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience: Must have experience which provides a knowledge of automotive worker duties; knowledge of technical practices in order to remove, replace, clean, and install parts, components, and accessories such as wheel cylinders, universal joints, springs, shock absorbers, catalytic converters, clutch assembles, mufflers, engine and transmission repair and replacement. Knowledge of equipment common to the trade.
Must have ability to read, write and speak English. Must possess skill in dealing with customers and public. 2 years specialized experience or 1 year related experience equivalent to the NF-III level or 1 year related experience plus technical education degree or certification in a related trade. Condition of Employment: Requires a National Agency Background Check (NACI). Must have a valid Driver License. Must possess a valid state driver's license appropriate for the size and type of vehicle operated.
Must provide a copy of driving record. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
