ABOUT THE ROLE Join a small, high-caliber founding team at a pre-seed AI-native fintech startup building the future of private market operations. We're creating infrastructure that powers fund accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and treasury automation — designed from the ground up with a deep focus on permissions, auditability, traceability, and observability across both hosted and self-hosted deployments. As a Backend Engineer, you'll have real ownership over core backend systems at an early stage, working alongside a tight-knit team to ship production-grade software in a high-stakes financial services environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own and manage backend infrastructure for permissions, auditability, traceability, and observability - Design and oversee deployment architectures for both hosted and self-hosted environments using infrastructure-as-code tools - Continuously improve system reliability, performance, and security in production - Partner closely with product teams to deliver new features while maintaining rigorous quality standards - Drive AI-native development practices that enable rapid, high-quality releases WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Required: - 1–6 years of backend development experience - Proficiency in TypeScript and NestJS for building backend services - Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and Prisma in production-grade environments - Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi to manage deployments Nice to have / Tech context: - Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (e.g.

Inngest) or agentic frameworks - Experience working in fintech, private markets, or enterprise SaaS environments - Comfort operating in a fast-moving, early-stage startup environment with a high degree of autonomy COMPENSATION & BENEFITS - Salary: €70,000 – €110,000 per year, depending on experience - Visa sponsorship is available - Early-stage equity opportunity (founding team hire) LOCATION This is an on-site role based in Berlin, Germany.

You'll be working daily with a co-located founding team. Relocation support and visa sponsorship are available for the right candidate.
