Budget Analyst
About this role
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this grade level. Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled.
Some examples of qualifying experience are: Experience in the formulation, justification, and presentation requirements of budget submissions to agency officials, Office of Management and Budget and Congress. Experience in providing advice and guidance to Executive staff regarding annual budget requirements, annual obligations and operating costs, special projects and operational budgetary issues/problems. Experience in translating budget data into a required budget format and exhibits, and prepares special financial, budget and project analysis, impact statements for obligations incurred and project status.
Experience in performing continuous review of appropriations through reports to identify and resolve budget issues, ensure that the use of funds is consistent with budget estimates, Congressional intent and Office of Management and Budget's policy. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as number of hours worked per week) spent in the activities.
