You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes monitoring budget program allocations, obligations, and expenditure of funds as part of budget execution, reporting on budget and accounting data using automated financial systems such as General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), analyzing funding actions to ensure accurate financial records, and evaluating continual changes in program funding to recommend budgetary action.

This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Specialized Experience GS-13: One year specialized experience which includes providing financial recommendations to organization leaders to support financial decisions in accordance with budget policies and regulations, monitoring the use of funds to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, resolving budget issues by implementing corrective actions to enhance program efficiency, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to discuss financial requirements for the current year, Program Objective Memorandum (POM), and funding options for budget development.

This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11/12).
