Specialized experience is defined as: Experience supporting (1) the formulation and justification of budget by analyzing program submissions, ensuring compliance with statutes and OMB requirements, preparing materials for leadership and external stakeholders and (2) monitoring execution of budget by tracking, forecasting, analyzing and reporting obligations and expenditures to inform resource planning and decision making.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
