Contract Specialist - Direct Hire

About this role

To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must meet all the requirements listed below: Education: A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. (Exceptions to this requirement will be made for current employees who occupied a GS-1102-13 position on January 1, 2000).

Training: A Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) (Professional) certification is required for successful performance of the assigned duties. Applicants must possess a FAC-C (Professional) certification in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI) FAC-C Certification Standards or equivalent Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification standards. Please indicate in your application your level and source (FAI, DAWIA) of certification.

Experience: Four (4) years of experience in contracting or related positions. At least 1 (one) year of that experience must have been specialized experience at, or equivalent to, work at the GS-12 level. Examples of specialized experience include: awarding, administering, and closing out various contract types such as, Fixed-Price; Indefinite Delivery Contracts; Time and Materials; performing contract analysis such as quality assurance and surveillance plans/procedures to measure contractor performance; assessing and monitoring financial operations specific to contracts; planning and conducting detailed contract price/cost analyses, assisting with new procurement policy formulation; and providing guidance to personnel in the development and formulation of contracting approaches.
