TERM APPOINTMENT: Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 3 Years. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) providing complex travel support for military and/or civilian personnel using an automated travel system; AND 2) developing travel and transportation guidance based on current travel regulations, policy, regulations, and laws; AND 3) supporting technical, administrative and operational requirements of a travel program such as resolving complex travel issues, maintaining databases, or monitoring functional aspects of travel applications.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
