Director of Digitalization (Core Systems) Reports to: CEO Level: Senior Leadership | New Role Function: Digitalization / Core Systems Role Purpose The Director of Digitalization will take ownership of the company’s core operational systems, particularly the WMS (SFT) and TMS (STT) , and lead the digitization of the existing operating network. This role has been created to address gaps in the current WMS/TMS environment, where system limitations have led operators to rely on manual work-arounds such as spreadsheets and AppSheets.
The successful candidate will stabilize and modernize these core systems, eliminate unnecessary manual processes, and create real-time visibility across inventory and people flow. The role will also play a critical part in enabling the company’s long-term technology vision, including end-to-end operational automation . Key Responsibilities Take full ownership of the WMS (SFT) , including ongoing improvement, stabilization, and modernization.
Take full ownership of the TMS (STT) , including ongoing improvement, stabilization, and modernization. Lead the digitization of the current operating network , replacing manual and spreadsheet/AppSheet-based work-arounds with scalable system solutions. Improve real-time visibility of inventory, workforce, and operational flows across the network. Identify operational pain points and translate them into practical system improvements that deliver measurable business impact.
Partner closely with the CSCO and Product Management on product priorities, system roadmap, and technology requirements. Work closely with the COO and Operations teams to ensure systems effectively support day-to-day operational needs. Coordinate with the Associate Director of Technology on shared infrastructure, reliability, security, and technical dependencies. Contribute to the company’s broader technology roadmap, including the transition toward end-to-end automation .
Scope of Ownership WMS (SFT) — transferred into this role TMS (STT) — transferred into this role Digitalization of operational processes across the existing network System reliability, usability, and operational visibility Requirements & Experience Proven experience owning or leading WMS, TMS, ERP, or comparable core logistics/operational systems at meaningful operational scale. Strong track record of digitizing manual, paper-based, spreadsheet-driven, or fragmented operational processes .
Experience taking ownership of legacy, underperforming, or neglected systems and successfully stabilizing and modernizing them. Strong understanding of system reliability, service uptime, and operational technology. Demonstrated ability to work effectively across Technology, Product, and Operations functions. Experience working in complex, distributed, or high-volume logistics, supply chain, warehousing, transportation, or similar operational environments is highly preferred.

Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is someone who has taken ownership of neglected core operational systems and turned them into reliable, scalable platforms . They understand both technology and the realities of frontline operations. They know how to win back the trust of operators who have developed their own work-arounds, while delivering practical improvements that make those work-arounds unnecessary. Rather than approaching the role as a multi-year transformation exercise, the ideal candidate is a hands-on, delivery-oriented digital leader who can stabilize the current WMS/TMS environment, improve visibility across the network, and establish the foundations for the company’s future end-to-end automation strategy .
