You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

GS-09: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience utilizing an electronic document management system to catalog, file, and organize engineering documents; AND using Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) systems to create and update drawings of equipment or facilities in an industrial or campus setting.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). GS-10: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes updating and maintaining as-built drawings within an engineering document management system; preparing engineering drawings and layouts for mechanical, electrical, or civil projects using CADD or Building Information Modeling (BIM) systems; AND reviewing and analyzing drawings to ensure compliance with established drafting standards.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). GS-11: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: performing computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) and building information modeling (BIM) support; planning and preparing complex mechanical and electrical engineering layouts and drawings; and reviewing design plans and specifications to assure compliance with modeling and drafting related criteria.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
