About this role

This is a GG-05 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-05 duties for the "Technician / Administrative Support" work category are at the "Entry/Developmental" work level and are equivalent to those at the GG-05 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of basic or commonly used rules, procedures, or operations that typically require some previous training or experience; or basic skills to operate equipment requiring some previous training or experience, such as keyboard equipment or reproduction equipment.

The employee uses basic knowledge and previous training and experience to support facility readiness by executing work schedules and checklists, serving as POC for service calls, entering data into tracking systems, and generally assisting in facility management needs. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

To view qualifying educational requirements and/or combination of education and specialized experience click on the following link: http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/standards/group-stds/gs-admin.asp KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of a wide range of Civil Engineering disciplines, shop functions, capabilities, and workflow processes, as well as established operating instructions, directives, and policies related to the processing of work requests for facility maintenance.

Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems within a facility. Ability to identify common issues and report them to the appropriate personnel. Knowledge of established facility maintenance scheduling, prioritization, and tracking systems. Knowledge of common security systems used to protect facilities, including awareness of access control procedures. Knowledge of established procedures for government purchase card use, as outlined in guidelines provided.

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and to prepare written correspondence and briefings. Conditions of Employment Continued: Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. Work requires significant time spent monitoring infrastructure systems and ongoing work to mitigate problems and gathering progress data.

There will be times when walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items, climbing ladders and equipment stairs, and crawling is required to access mechanical and equipment areas, plenums, manholes, crawl spaces, roofs, and other tight and/or hard-to-reach areas for researching site conditions. No other special physical demands are required to perform work. Site visits to hard-to-reach areas including construction sites are required and may necessitate the wearing of special protective equipment such as hard hats, eye protection, protective footwear, and/or ear protection.

Site visits may expose incumbent to hazardous conditions typical to construction sites and equipment areas. Incumbent is required to wear appropriate protective clothing, devices, hardhats, etc., in hazardous areas. May be required to spend extended time-on-the-job on an unexpected basis, both after normal duty hours, weekends and holidays. Required to be available for immediate recall at all times consistent with the nature of the emergency situation.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
