Evidence Control Specialist
About this role
To qualify for the Evidence Control Specialist position at the GS-9 grade level, you must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Minimum Qualifications Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume.
To qualify for this position at the GS-09 grade level, candidates must meet the following specialized experience by the closing date of this announcement. EXPERIENCE: Candidates must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must include all of the following: Receiving, handling, storing, and transferring various types of physical evidence in a manner that maintains legal chain of custody; AND Entering case information into the laboratory information management system (LIMS); AND Communicating with law enforcement and laboratory staff in a clear and concise manner; AND Providing court testimony on chain of custody of forensic evidence or applied formal training.
OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR A combination of graduate education and experience. This will be calculated using your résumé and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application.
