Financial Management Specialist

About this role

To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

Evaluating budget requirements and providing technical guidance and recommendations to management officials, organizational leadership, and program managers on budget formulation and financial planning activities. Analyzing, interpreting, and applying current and proposed financial management policies, regulations, procedures, and guidance to ensure effective internal financial management and compliance with applicable laws and agency requirements.

Managing the execution of financial resources by analyzing funding requirements and maneuvering resource allocations across multiple sub-allotments and appropriations to support changing organizational priorities while maintaining fiscal accountability. Applying financial management principles and procurement requirements to support organizational acquisition activities, including the micro-purchase program, procurement request processing, inter service support agreements (ISSAs), and contract-related financial actions.

Reviewing and evaluating financial management operations to ensure the effective administration of financial management systems, policies, and programs.
