About this role

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education: GS-12 and GS-13: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this grade level. OR Experience: GS-12 and GS-13: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled.

Some examples of qualifying experience are: GS-12: Experience responding to Headquarters, DOJ, and/or Office of Inspector General inquiries. Experience developing and/or implementing changes to the automated accounting system, in compliance with GAAP. Experience reviewing changes to treasury reporting requirements and implementing those changes to agency's reporting. Experience reconciling multiple SGL accounts to include but not limited to assets, liabilities, expenditure, and revenue.

GS-13: Experience performing annual certification of accounts receivables. Experience analyzing local financial management work processes and implementing changes (i.e, Institutional Supplements) to improve workflow. Experience performing reviews of General Ledger accounts and verifying accuracy. Experience identifying invalid General Ledger account balances, researching and resolving discrepancies. Experience serving on workgroup to resolve accounting/financial management related issues and provide proposed remediation to Headquarters.

Experience identifying accounting errors impacting the preparation of Financial Statements, researched and provide corrective action. OR Combination of Education and Experience: If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as number of hours worked per week) spent in the activities. **Your eligibility for consideration will be based on your responses to the questions in the application.**
