FIREFIGHTER
About this role
GS-13: FIRE CHIEF Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Managing and overseeing the administrative of functional elements of fire suppression, fire prevention, emergency medical transport services, emergency dispatch operations; develop and execute the annual budget; AND providing guidance and instruction to subordinates on technical and administrative matters.
GS-12: SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Implementing, preparing, and disseminating the Standing Operating Procedures (SOP) used by the organization for emergency operations AND ensuring emergency services have the capability to control and extinguish fires, perform life saving services, perform heavy rescue operations, perform Emergency Medical Service (EMS) to patients/victims of all types of incidents; and to identify and contain hazardous material incidents.
GS-09: FIREFIGHTER (PARAMEDIC) Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Serving as a Firefighter AND Paramedic providing fire prevention, fire protection, and emergency operations; responding to emergencies as a member of an Engine Company, Truck Company, Rescue Company, Hazardous Materials Team and/or a Rescue Team with associated vehicle and equipment.
GS-09: FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Evaluating and recommending fire safety and prevention policies and procedures; developing and implementing training programs for military and civilian personnel; maintaining records, reports and statistical fire prevention data; AND instructing inspectors regarding the building inspection processes.
GS-08: LEAD FIREFIGHTER Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading and directing the operation and efficiency of the crew in all aspects of firefighting, emergency medical, hazardous materials, urban search & rescue, fire prevention and communications; AND ability to perform as a fully trained/certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
GS-07: FIREFIGHTER Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector inspecting facilities and structures for fire hazards and fire protection deficiencies; operating as an integral member of a firefighting team under direct supervision in hazardous conditions; AND respond to all medical emergencies as an Emergency Medical Technician.
