Full Stack Engineer
About this role
ABOUT THE ROLE A small, senior team building enterprise AI infrastructure is looking for a Full Stack Engineer to own product surfaces end-to-end. This is an early-stage company in the AI infrastructure / enterprise data space — the platform provides a unified, governed context layer that makes AI agents reliable and accurate for critical business operations in highly regulated industries (insurance, banking, asset management, healthcare, and more).
You'll join a tight-knit team where your work directly removes friction for engineers using the platform and unlocks growth. There are no handed-down design files or detailed specs here — you'll make the calls, ship to production, and own the outcomes. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own complete product surfaces end-to-end: customer-facing interfaces, APIs, and the data models underneath. - Make complex system behavior legible and fast for engineers using the platform.
- Split your time roughly 60% frontend / API layer and 40% backend services. - Define architecture, ship it to production, monitor its behavior, and fix what breaks. - Work autonomously — no design hand-offs, no over-specified tickets; you decide what's right. - Remove growth ceilings by making the customer-facing product obvious and intuitive. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Dealbreakers: - 5+ years building full-stack applications with shipped products in production.
- Proficiency with a modern frontend framework (React, Vue, or equivalent) — able to build interfaces that make complex system behavior legible. - Backend service development experience: designing and implementing APIs and data models that support frontend requirements. Required: - Demonstrated experience designing and shipping product surfaces end-to-end (frontend, APIs, data models) without detailed specifications or design files.
- Ability to make architectural decisions independently and own implementation all the way through to production. - Experience building systems that expose complex backend behavior through intuitive interfaces and APIs. - Proficiency with backend languages and frameworks — Python, Go, Node.js, Java, or equivalent — for building production services. - Experience with databases and data modeling for systems requiring real-time performance.
Nice to Have: - Experience with knowledge graphs, semantic systems, or graph databases. - Background in distributed systems, real-time inference, or agent-based systems. - Experience building infrastructure or developer-facing products. - Familiarity with enterprise data systems or data integration challenges. LOCATION & WORK ARRANGEMENT This role is on-site in San Mateo, CA. Visa sponsorship is available. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Compensation details were not provided for this listing.
Expect equity and competitive cash compensation consistent with an early-stage, well-funded AI infrastructure company.
