Internal Communications Manager

About this role

Qualifications: Applicants must submit a resume and writing sample (e.g. press release, blog post), and meet the following requirements: Minimum: BS/BA degree in Business, Communications, Advertising, Marketing; or equivalent combination of education & experience. Minimum 6 years’ experience in a marketing/communications role on Capitol Hill, with an advertising agency, marketing firm, or communications department. Experience with stakeholder relations, internal and external communications, public outreach, and communications planning.

Possess solid foundational skills, including a collaborative and communicative work ethic, the ability to juggle several projects, and consistently meet or beat deadlines. Ability to oversee complex communications campaigns on a broad range of topics to a variety of audiences. Ability to independently create clear, engaging content. Record of developing and implementing effective strategic communications strategy. Must have solid understanding of current web trends and marketing best practices.

Knowledge of project management tools (e.g.: ClickUp, Monday, Trello, etc.) Experience with interactive marketing campaign management and tracking. Outstanding communications skills, both verbal and written; must have demonstrated proficiency in creating concise copy. Strong project management, and time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.

Government experience is preferred, particularly within Capitol Hill, the U.S. House of Representatives, or the Legislative Branch. **Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactorily completing a criminal history records check (or other applicable security clearance) and a pre-employment drug-test (pre-identified position only).
