About this role

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/18/2026. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-12 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: daily management, optimization, and troubleshooting of storage and backup systems, as well as conducting incident triage and remediation to ensure data availability and protection.

Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in integrating new technologies, documenting system configurations, and applying advanced IT concepts to resolve complex operational issues. Experience coordinating activities across distributed environments, interpreting policies, and communicating technical information to both management and technical staff is required. Familiarity with information security practices, scripting, cloud integration, and RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks).

AND, Selective Placement Factor: hands-on expertise in administering and troubleshooting enterprise storage systems-including SAN/NAS platforms and core storage protocols (CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, and Fiber Channel)-and be able to independently triage and remediate storage alerts and customer requests, ensuring system stability, data availability, and continuity of operations without supervisory guidance, as well as demonstrate proven experience managing backup and recovery processes in multi-tier storage environments; applicants lacking this capability are not eligible for further consideration or assessment.
