About this role

To qualify for this position at the GS-12 level, you must meet the following qualification requirements: English Language Proficiency - In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), No person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English. You must be proficient in basic written and spoken English in order to meet the requirements of this position .-AND- Specialized Experience: Possess one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position.

To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: performing administrative and management work in a healthcare environment; overseeing care coordination, clinical operations, operating room and procedure room efficiency, efficient space utilization, optimal clinic grid usage, minimize patient wait time, and responsible for onboarding and credentialing appropriate staff aligned to patient needs; performing data analysis; and utilizing computer software programs.

A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. .-AND- This position includes Selective Placement Factors (SPF).

SPF's are a prerequisite to appointment and represent minimum requirements for the position. Applicants who do not meet the SPF are ineligible for further consideration. The Quality Ranking Factor for this position is: Performed work in demonstrating a documented record of providing executive- level administrative leadership over a large, multi-site, multi-disciplinary healthcare service, independently analyzing complex program and operational issues, and advising senior leadership with specific, evidence-based recommendations.

NOTE: To receive credit for this experience, please be sure detailed information is included in your resume. Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary with routine travel between campuses and occasional VISN/national meetings. A valid driver's license is required for inter-site travel. Work Environment: Work is performed in typical office settings, with adequate lighting and climate control. Routine travel to care sites is required within the service area, necessitating standard safety precautions.
