MECHANICAL ENGINEER

About this role

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in the full range of shipboard mechanical systems and components encompassed by the assigned duties in an organization. Experience evaluating and applying the latest developments and techniques in solving problems not readily treatable by traditional or accepted methods.

Experience serving as technical consultant, preparing specifications, and providing direction for the procurement of special material and services for assigned projects. Experience in related engineering fields including electrical and structural in order to permit technical understanding, communication, and cooperation in areas of work interface with personnel of other engineering disciplines. Experience investigating shipboard mechanical system and component malfunctions or faulty conditions.
