MECHANICAL ENGINEER
About this role
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying principles, methods, tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, and managing contracting and strategy.
Experience planning projects and resources, including technical performance, budgeting, and adherence to contracting requirements. Experience in applying the results of engineering and business research to secure existing products or services or to lead to the development of new products or services. Experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with key individuals or groups, both internal to the Government and external organizations.
Experience and ability to persuade others to build consensus through compromise, gaining cooperation from others to obtain information, finding solutions, and accomplishing goals. Experience planning, defining, developing, and documenting quality requirements for products, services, processes, and systems that are suitable to the activity, proportional to the risk, and consistent with established Agency guidance, practices, and standards.
Experience managing programs and fostering an environment that administers all resources in a manner that instills public trust while accomplishing the mission. Experience monitoring progress and evaluating outcomes to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Experience holding self and others accountable to measure high-quality, timely, and cost-effective results. Experience determining objectives, sets priorities, and ensures sound project management processes and procedures are in place, ensuring that national interests are well served.
Experience identifying and analyzing problems; weighs relevance and accuracy of information; seeks/generates and evaluates alternative perspectives/solutions; makes timely/effective recommendations, based on potential implications of findings or conclusions. Experience identifying the causes of problems and choosing courses of action that balance the interests of the mission and stakeholders.
