About this role

You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: - Coordinating and implementing physical security operations, tactics, and procedures designed to protect highly sensitive national assets, critical infrastructure, or high-value materials. - Analyzing and assessing physical security policies and regulatory frameworks to identify operational gaps, evaluate risk factors, and draft recommendations for policy updates or system improvements.

- Preparing and delivering structured technical briefings, analytical reports, and risk assessments to senior leadership and diverse stakeholders regarding security posture, compliance, and strategic alignment. - Planning, coordinating, and executing operational security exercises or testing protocols to validate system effectiveness, identify vulnerabilities, and ensure readiness against defined threat scenarios. - Interpreting and applying complex security directives at an intermediate or headquarters level to align multi-site programs, draft standard operating procedures, and coordinate physical security initiatives across organizational boundaries.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
