About this role

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 in the Federal service or its non-federal equivalency.

Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Applying expertise in the Federal budget process and associated policies, directives, procedures, and regulations to develop and provide authoritative guidance; AND 2) Providing analysis, research, and recommendations to the team to inform budgetary actions and decision-making; AND 3) Assisting in developing budget formulation estimates; AND 4) Supporting the development and preparation of budget justifications; AND 5) Facilitating communication and coordination between office staff and bureau budget offices on budgetary matters; AND 6) Utilizing financial and budgetary systems to track, monitor, and perform budgetary and financial activities.

-OR- SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION - Applicants may qualify with 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree, OR a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. MUST PROVIDE A COPY TRANSCRIPTS -OR- COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
