About this role

For the GS-7: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level directly related to the work of this position. This experience must include the use of office automation to produce various forms of information to include spreadsheets, charts, databases, and presentations. Assists in drafting briefing material, reports, and various other forms of communication that can be used by senior leadership to communicate initiatives, policy, or procedural change.

OR One full year of graduate level education directly related to the position. OR Superior Academic Achievement: To qualify based on superior academic achievement, you must have completed the requirements for a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution AND must meet certain GPA requirements or membership in a National Scholastic Honor Society. Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F.

One year at the GS-5 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS- 7 level. Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements (e.g., time-in-grade and qualification requirements) within 30 days of the closing date specified in the vacancy announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
