Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) leading the assessment, monitoring, and evaluation (AM&E) of Security Cooperation (SC) initiatives, programs, or cases to ensure compliance with National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) mandates and alignment with theater-level campaign plans; 2) utilizing defense-specific database systems to collect, compile, and analyze statistical and narrative data; 3) developing and refining performance metrics, to include mapping Measures of Performance (MOPs) to Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs), to track and report on strategic outcomes and program Return on Investment (ROI); and 4) applying analytical, evaluative, and cost-benefit methodologies to identify program efficiencies, recommend mid-course corrections, and advise senior leadership on the sustainability of security initiatives.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
