Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) independently planning and evaluating operational, contingency, or force management programs by setting objectives, timeframes, priorities, and procedures, and monitoring progress toward established goals; 2) applying project management principles to manage one or more programs or activities concurrently within established time and budgetary constraints; 3) demonstrating strategic thinking by aligning plans, policies, and recommendations with broader organizational goals and recognizing the longer-term implications of planning decisions; 4) partnering and coordinating with higher, lateral, and subordinate organizations to advance common objectives while maintaining awareness of relevant policies and trends; and 5) performing secondary level supervision of employees in an organization.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Human Resources Management Partnering Planning and Evaluating Project Management Strategic Thinking Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
