About this role

To qualify for the position, applicants must demonstrate in their application that they possess at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level (FV-H/GS-12). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes: Experience managing and administering workplace safety or occupational health programs (OSH) within an aviation operational environment, which includes developing or recommending safety and occupational health policy or designing or modifying processes or other systems to control or eliminate hazards.

Experience applying occupational safety and health standards (OSH) to do any of the following: identify hazards, perform safety risk assessments, and develop Job Safety Analyses (JSA), or Safety Hazard Analysis (SHA), or prepare hazard abatement plans. Experience as a primary advisor or Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) matters and committees, such as a Compliance Committees or OSHECCOMs.
