About this role

ABOUT THE ROLE This is an in-house, full-ownership SEO role at a fast-growing AI-powered business communication startup targeting SMEs globally. You'll define and execute the end-to-end search strategy — spanning traditional engines and emerging AI-driven search — starting with the DACH market and expanding internationally. This is a high-impact, senior individual-contributor position at the intersection of growth, content, and product.

WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own SEO strategy and execution across all markets, with an initial focus on DACH and a roadmap for international expansion. - Define page structure and architecture, collaborating directly with website and engineering teams on technical SEO. - Lead keyword research for both traditional search and AI-generated results, setting the overall approach for each. - Commission and write content to drive top rankings across target markets.

- Manage a monthly SEO budget of €20,000–€30,000, including oversight of external agency relationships. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 5–10+ years of experience with SEO as a dedicated, full-time responsibility — not a secondary function — with measurable results at significant scale. - Proven international SEO expertise, including hands-on experience targeting markets outside your home region. - Full professional fluency in both English and German.

- Strong copywriting skills; the ability to write compelling, search-optimised content independently is a genuine differentiator here. - Hands-on proficiency with website platforms such as Webflow or equivalent tools. - Comfortable owning strategy autonomously and working at pace in a scaling, growth-stage environment. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary range: €65,000–€100,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available. LOCATION On-site in Vienna, Austria.
