Staff Product Manager - Data Products and Agent Interface

launchdarklyRemote - US

About this role

About the Job: LaunchDarkly is seeking a creative and experienced Product Manager to lead our end-to-end data products, from SDK data ingest through our data platform to the customer-facing observability, metrics, and experimentation experiences built on top of it. You will own the vision and strategy for this entire pipeline as a coherent product, ensuring the data customers send us is trustworthy, timely, and transformed into experiences that help them ship better software.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of data infrastructure, observability/analytics, and how customers consume and work with software delivery data. As we evolve our data product experience to primarily focus on agent interface with data, this person will also lead our agent interface work (CLI, MCP, Skills, etc.) for our data products and overall for the LaunchDarkly platform. Responsibilities: Define and lead the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for LaunchDarkly's end-to-end data products, spanning SDK event ingestion, our data platform, and customer-facing data products, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer requirements.

Own the strategy for AI-powered analysis of our data and the agent experience of our data products: how AI surfaces insights, anomalies, and recommendations from software delivery data, and how our data is modeled, exposed, and made consumable so that AI agents are first-class consumers alongside humans. Treat the data pipeline as a single product: drive coherence across ingestion, processing, storage, and consumption so that every downstream experience (analytics, experimentation, insights, integrations) is built on a reliable, well-modeled foundation.

Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to deliver high-quality products that meet customer needs. Monitor industry trends and competitor products to stay ahead of the curve. Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring their needs and pain points are addressed in all product decisions. Partner with marketing and cross-functional teams including sales, customer success, and support to define Go-To-Market plans and strategy for data products and features.

Mentor and uplevel other product managers, and raise the bar for data-informed product practice across the organization. About You: Curious: More than anything, you love learning and are able to build opinions and expertise quickly across many domains. Purpose-driven: The how behind all your projects is driven by a clear definition of why we're solving the problem. Agent-first: You’re obsessive about pushing agents to their limits and often eschew UIs in favor of agent-first interactions.

Customer-centric: You are driven to understand customer challenges and needs, crafting solutions that provide real value. Product sense: You love great software and can't stand bad software. You have a strong focus on craft, quality, and the ability to deeply empathize with the end user to deliver delightful experiences. Systems thinker: You see how the pieces connect. You're as comfortable reasoning about an ingestion pipeline's throughput as you are about the dashboard a customer sees, and you understand how decisions at one layer ripple through the others.

Collaborative: You excel at working with diverse teams, seamlessly bridging customer stakeholders, ecosystem partners, and product development teams. Effective communicator: You build strong relationships and communicate with clarity and precision. You're an incredible writer who can concisely explain complex ideas in simple ways to a wide variety of audiences. Adaptable: You thrive in fast-paced environments and can effectively prioritize in order to manage multiple projects at once.

High agency: You are motivated to achieve success and have a strong sense of ownership to deliver great outcomes across a broad range of responsibilities. Even if it's not your responsibility, if you see something that needs to be done, you make sure it happens. Business acumen: You understand how technical solutions tie to business objectives and can align projects to meet customer and company goals. Qualifications: 8+ years of product experience, especially with data platforms, data infrastructure, analytics, or developer tools.

Alternatively, 8+ years of engineering experience in data-intensive systems with a strong product mindset and a desire to transition into a product management role. We will consider candidates with fewer years of experience who demonstrate exceptional potential and excitement to get into the space, or who bring significant hands-on experience with AI-powered data analysis. Proven track record of successfully bringing data products to market and driving strategy across multiple teams or a platform-scale product area.

Strong understanding of modern data architectures: event/streaming pipelines, data warehousing and lakehouse patterns, data modeling, and the trade-offs of processing data at scale. Experience with both platform products (where the customer is internal teams or developers) and end-user-facing data products (analytics, observability, insights, experimentation), and an understanding of how the two must work together. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with and influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
