About this role

Time in Grade: For entry at the GS-15 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-14 or equivalent or higher grade, in the Federal Service. Specialized Experience: You must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-14 level in the Federal service or at an equivalent level. This specialized experience must have been acquired in an environment focused on government oversight, audits, or investigations at the federal level.

Specialized experience is defined as: (1) Supervising audit teams; evaluating performance; developing staff; and addressing workplace issues. (2) Applying knowledge of organizational mission and policies to plan, manage, and ensure compliance of audit work. (3) Managing audit planning and execution in accordance with standards; reviewing findings and recommendations for accuracy and value. (4) Communicating expectations and results by delivering briefings, high-stakes meetings, and audience-appropriate messaging.

(5) Managing the development of clear, defensible, evidence-based audit documentation, findings, and recommendations. AND Basic Qualifications for the 0511 Series: Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting. OR Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge.

The applicant's background must also include one of the following:1. A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; Or 2. Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours. Related fields that also may qualify: Applied Artificial Intelligence, Applied Statistics, Artificial Intelligence Governance, Business Analytics, Business Intelligence, Business Administration/Management, Computer Science.
