About this role

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience for the GS-12 level is defined as: Managing and directing finance operations, including developing and implementing policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and internal controls for a civilian pay program, or supervising subordinate staff, which involves assigning and reviewing work, or providing expert advisory services on complex and controversial payroll problems, interpreting and applying pertinent regulations, and ensuring proper interface with financial systems, or analyzing operational effectiveness and preparing financial reports and briefings for higher-level management.
