Minimum Education Requirement: GS-0401: Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

GS-1301: Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. OR Combination of education and experience: education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

GS-1320: Degree: physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering that included 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by course work in mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics. OR Combination of education and experience: course work equivalent to a major as shown in A above, including at least 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics, plus appropriate experience or additional education In addition to the education requirements, your resume must also show you meet the specialized experience for this position.

Specialized Experience is defined as: One year of professional-level scientific experience in biology, chemistry, or physical sciences as applied to forensic examinations, crime scene operations, quality management, or forensic research, which includes directing, coordinating, and overseeing a large-scale, multidisciplinary scientific or forensic laboratory division consisting of multiple technical branches, subordinate supervisors, and contractor personnel; serving as a senior scientific authority or technical advisor to executive leadership on highly complex scientific programs, national-level policies, and multi-million dollar resource allocations; and representing an organization as a primary liaison to external agencies, federal/state partners, or international entities, including translating complex scientific and technical concepts for legal, investigative, military, and non-scientific stakeholders.
