About this role

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience as a Professional Mechanical Engineer and/or an Aerospace Engineer equivalent to the STRL NM-03 Pay Band or equivalent GS Grade Level (GS-9/12) in the Federal Service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: (1) Performing flight controls research in one or more of the following areas: robust and adaptive control; autonomous systems; control system improvements for legacy aircraft; advanced hardware/software for sensing, actuation, or computation; integrating novel control architectures or algorithms; or verification and certification of advanced control systems; 2) Managing project requirements, objectives, and metrics in support of agency mission; 3) Resolving conflicts among schedules, funding, and resources for a major aviation program; 4) Interpreting policies promulgated by authorities to determine their effect on aviation program needs; 5) Coordinating and assigning work for technical or non-technical personnel based on aviation program initiatives and agency needs; (6) Preparing in-depth written and oral presentations for stakeholders on project/program status, technical problems, scheduling, and costs; and (7) Performing supervisory and administrative responsibilities for assigned subordinates.
