What You’ll Do As a Truck Shop Assistant, you’ll help keep our maintenance facility running efficiently by supporting our technicians, parts department, and daily shop operations. Responsibilities include: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environment Follow all company safety procedures and immediately report any hazards Assist the parts department with receiving, stocking, organizing, and inventory management Test, inspect, and track product delivery hoses Perform daily yard inspections and report any issues Pick up parts and shuttle vehicles as needed Learn and utilize the company’s electronic maintenance (ELOG) system Maintain the cleanliness of shop grounds and facility Operate a forklift safely (training available if needed) Assist with snow removal during winter months Support spill response efforts at company or customer locations when required Work closely with technicians and management to promote a positive team environment Perform other shop and facility duties as assigned Requirements What We’re Looking For Mechanically inclined with basic maintenance knowledge Positive attitude and strong work ethic Reliable and dependable attendance Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to work independently and stay organized Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Willingness to learn and grow within the company Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to perform physical labor throughout the workday Preferred Qualifications Previous maintenance or shop experience Forklift experience Basic hand tool knowledge Experience working around commercial trucks or heavy equipment is a plus Hiring Requirements Background check Pre-employment drug screening Physical strength and agility assessment Benefits Why Join Altom Transport?
